The new TRD bits add on to the already available features in the standard Tacoma; crawl control, an electronic locking rear differential, active traction control, and hill assist, just to name a few. The same 3.5-liter V6 carries over as well.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Gets a Hefty $40,760 Price Tag - The new Toyota Tacoma delivers on its promise of being a rugged, millennial-focused mid-sizer with off roads chops. Even more equipped for the tough stuff is the Tacoma TRD Pro, which was introduced earlier in the year at the Chicago Auto Show.
Now, that truck has a price. Starting at $40,760 for the manual, and $42,760 for the automatic (not including the $940 destination fee), the Tacoma TRD Pro isn’t exactly the definition of frugal. Comparatively, it’s nearly as expensive as a brand new F-150 XLT. But that’s not to say it isn’t worth it.
http://The Tacoma TRD Pro gets updates both visually and mechanically. The front and rear track are one inch wider, the lift is one inch higher, and the TRD-tuned springs and Fox internal bypass shocks provide all the necessary tools for proper off-road hoonage.
